DAESANG Jongga Kimchi is thrilled to partner yet again this year with The Culinary Institute of America. We are honored to partner with the worlds premier culinary college and are look forward to hosting our competition in its beautiful Napa location. This years competition is a fantastic celebration of the love of food and the craft of cooking. The CIA and Kimchi Cook-Off opens the doors to all who wish to pursue a dream as a culinary artist. A school that celebrates the art of cooking and varying cultural cuisines is the perfect place to host the 2021 Daesang Jongga Kimchi Cook-Off.
Eight qualified contestants will move forward as finalists through a rigorous selection process and they will receive the unique opportunity to cook in the Heston kitchen at The Culinary Institute of America, Copia. There, they will get the experience of a lifetime recreating a kimchi-rich recipe that can highlight the Korean staple dish with culinary creativity.
There is no one more qualified than Chef Brad Barnes, CMC, Director of CIA Consulting & Industry Programs, to act as our lead judge. His credentials and culinary expertise will provide finalists with expert feedback. He will be joined by the world recognized, Marja Vongerichten, to guarantee our contestants will be immersed in an unforgettable experience.
